Parker County Judge Mark Riley and Texas Department of Transportation Area Engineer John Cordary pose at a barrier just before its removal Wednesday afternoon, opening traffic on a new segment of the Ric Williamson Memorial Highway from U.S. Highway 180 north to Farm-to-Market Road 920. A ribbon cutting ceremony opened the northwestern portion of the loop from U.S. 180 to State Highway 51. Riley said he anticipates a southern segment of the loop, from U.S. 180 south to Ranger Highway, will be open within another 60 days. He hopes the loop to Interstate 20 will be completed by summer of 2014.
