Team Notes

*TCU (7-4, 4-4) recorded its 600th win in program history.

 

*The Horned Frogs improved to 4-1 on the road in Big 12 play.

 

*TCU is now 14-9 against ranked teams under head coach Gary Patterson.

 

*The Horned Frogs were a plus-3 in turnover margin. Since 2005, TCU has the nation’s best record (48-1, .980) when ahead in turnover margin.

 

*TCU now has 20 takeaways in its last five road games.

 

*TCU played on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since a 15-6 win at SMU on Nov. 29, 1928.

 

*Tonight’s attendance of 99,950 is the largest crowd to see a TCU football game in the Horned Frogs’ history. The previous high was 94,118 for the 2011 Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin.

 

*Tonight marked the 150th game for Patterson as TCU's head coach. He is the Horned Frogs' all-time winningest coach with a 116-34 record.

 

*TCU now has a seven-game winning streak in contests following an open date.

 

*TCU improved to 24-8 in regular-season games following a loss under Patterson.

 

*The Horned Frogs rushed for 217 yards and passed for 82, giving them 47 consecutive victories when rushing for more yards than passing. 

 

*TCU’s opening possession of the game resulted in a 14-play, 94-yard drive covering 7:10. The 94 yards tied for the longest scoring drive by the Horned Frogs this season. TCU also went 94 yards against Virginia. The 14 plays and 7:10 both rank third in their respective categories this season.

 

*TCU recorded its first win in Austin since 1967.

 

 

*TCU’s team captains were Josh Boyce, Sam Carter, Devonte Fields and Blaize Foltz. It was Fields’ first time being a captain.

 

 

Individual Notes  

*Matthew Tucker’s first half scoring runs of 3 yards and 1 yard gave him 32 career rushing touchdowns, moving him past Tony Jeffery (1984-87) into sole possession of third place all-time at TCU. Next on the list is Lonta Hobbs in second with 38 (2002-06).

 

*Trevone Boykin had a team-best and career-high 77 yards rushing on 10 carries while completing 7-of-9 passes for 82 yards.

 

*Corey Fuller had a career-long 35-yard reception on TCU’s opening play from scrimmage.

 

*Fuller tied a single game career-high with two receptions on the Horned Frogs’ opening series.

 

*B.J. Catalon’s 41-yard second-quarter run was his second-longest of the season, trailing only a 46-yard carry at Oklahoma State.

 

*Jason Verrett’s team-best sixth interception marks the most by a Horned Frog in a season since Jason Goss had eight in 2002.

 

*Elisha Olabode recorded his fourth interception of the season.

 

*Stansly Maponga had his second fumble recovery of the season. He added a tackle for loss, including a half-sack.

 

*Devonte Fields recorded his team-best ninth sack of the season. He totaled two tackles for a loss.

 

*Kenny Cain set a new career-high with 14 tackles, including a sack. His previous high was 13 against Portland State last season.

 

 

*Jaden Oberkrom’s two extra points gave him 39 in a row, placing second for a single season at TCU. Oberkrom is 39-of-39 on the year. Chris Kaylakie holds the TCU mark for consecutive PATs in a season (40, 2000).

 

*Oberkrom’s 18- and 41-yard third-quarter field goals made him 18-of-25 on the season. The 18 field goals rank fifth for a single season at TCU and are the most by a Horned Frog since Chris Manfredini’s 22 in 2007.

 

*Josh Boyce had a career-long 57-yard kickoff return, TCU's sixth kickoff or punt return of at least 52 yards this season.
