No. 11 Oklahoma 24, TCU 17

FORT WORTH —

No. 11 Oklahoma 24, TCU 17

Team Notes
*TCU closed the regular season at 7-5 overall and 4-5 in its first year in the Big 12. It marks the eighth straight season and 11th time in Gary Patterson’s 12 years that TCU has a winning record.

*The Horned Frogs are headed to a bowl game for the eighth straight season and 11th time in Patterson’s 12 seasons as head coach.

*The attendance of 47,501 marked the third-largest crowd in TCU history and second-largest this season, surpassed only by the 47,894 that attended the Oct. 20 Texas Tech game. The top mark is 50,307 in 2009 versus Utah.

*TCU lost for just the second time in the last eight seasons when ahead in turnover margin. The Horned Frogs forced two Oklahoma turnovers, while committing just one of their own. TCU is now 48-2 when ahead in turnover margin since 2005.

*The Horned Frogs dropped to 14-10 against ranked teams under Patterson.

*With Sam Carter’s second-quarter interception, TCU has picked off a pass in 11 of 12 games this season.

*TCU had its fifth sellout in six home games this season. The Horned Frogs have had 13 sellouts in their last 14 home dates and 15 of the past 20.

*TCU’s team captains were Josh Boyce, Kenny Cain, Sam Carter and Blaize Foltz.

*Twenty TCU seniors, including just 11 on scholarship, were recognized in a pre-game ceremony as they played their final home game.

Individual Notes

*Trevone Boykin’s first five completions went to five different receivers. He finished 17-of-31 for 231 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.

*Boykin’s 80-yard third-quarter touchdown pass to Brandon Carter was TCU’s longest play from scrimmage since a 94-yard Boykin to Josh Boyce scoring connection at West Virginia last month.

*Boykin added a 36-yard rush in the third quarter. It was the second-straight game he had a run of at least 36 yards.

*Carter’s 80-yard touchdown reception marked the longest play of his career, bettering a 75-yard scoring catch at Boise State last season.

*Boyce’s five receptions give him 156 for his career, moving him past Stephen Shipley (152, 1989-92) into third place on TCU’s all-time list.

*Cam White hauled in a 46-yard reception on TCU’s final drive, marking his longest grab of the season and since a 54-yard catch against New Mexico last season.

*Sam Carter recorded his fourth interception of the season, setting up a Boykin 6-yard touchdown run on the next snap.

*Chris Hackett led TCU with a career-high 11 tackles, representing the most by a TCU safety this season.

*Chucky Hunter tied a career-high with five stops, including two tackles for loss.

*Ethan Perry had a pair of punts over 60 yards. A 61-yard boot was followed by a career-long tying 64-yard effort.

*Jaden Oberkrom set a TCU single-season record with 42 consecutive extra-points made. The previous mark of 40 was held by Chris Kaylakie (40, 2000). Oberkrom’s 42 consecutive PATs is fourth all-time at TCU.

*Oberkrom had a 47-yard field goal, tying for his second-longest made kick of the season.

*Oberkrom’s 19 field goals rank fifth on TCU’s single-season chart.
