    Much to the dismay of Baylor's defense, Trevone Boykin grew up before everybody's eyes Saturday night.

    Making his first college road start, TCU's redshirt freshman quarterback looked like a veteran unfazed by pressure, the Floyd Casey Stadium crowd and the demands of Big 12 football.

  • No. 15 TCU without suspended QB against Iowa State

     

    FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — TCU coach Gary Patterson was walking away from the podium at the end of his weekly news conference when he suddenly offered an intriguing possibility for the 15th-ranked Horned Frogs’ backup quarterback.

    “What you’ll probably see is Trevone Boykin at tailback,” Patterson said in a surprising unsolicited statement.

    *Today’s attendance of 46,330 marked TCU’s 10th consecutive sellout and the 13th in the last 17 home games at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

     

    *The Horned Frogs improved to 80-2 when allowing 17 points or less under Gary Patterson.

     

    *TCU won for the 28th time in its last 29 home games and improved to 58-7 under Patterson in Amon G. Carter Stadium.

     

    *TCU improved to 43-2 in day games over the last eight seasons.

    FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Brandon Carter had a 68-yard touchdown on one of his one-handed catches, linebacker Kenny Cain recovered a fumble along with two interceptions and 17th-ranked TCU beat Virginia 27-7 Saturday for its 11th consecutive victory.
