Business women’s group honors business, individuals, awards scholarships

WEATHERFORD — WEATHERFORD — Texas Business Women of Parker County awarded three $1,000 scholarships at a recent meetings.

Renee Prewett, Ashley Williamson and Cindy Hanna were the recipients. All are attending Weatherford College.

Kim and Craig Bagley’s State Farm Insurance Agency was recognized by Texas Business Women of Parker County as Business of the Year.

The agency is recognized for what they do in Parker County and the positive work environment.

Mari Whiteman was recognized as Woman of the Year for her outstanding dedication for Texas Business Women of Parker County.

Whiteman has been a member for many years and has served held many club offices.

    The Natural Bridge Caverns take “deep in the heart of Texas Hill Country” to a whole new meaning. With depths reaching 260 feet underground, it is Texas’ largest-known cavern and consistently ranks as one of the state’s top tourist destinations. Discovered in 1960 by students at  St. Mary’s University, the cavern, located just west of New Braunfels, has delighted visitors for decades with lantern-led tours, archaeological gems, and natural formations like “soda straw” stalactites occurring along hidden passages.

    FORT WORTH — Come join the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) for a ranch gathering Thursday, at the Wise County Sheriff’s Posse Arena in Decatur. The gathering will begin at 6 p.m. with registration followed by a beef dinner and presentations.
