WEATHERFORD — Texas AgriLife Extension of Parker County will conduct a sewing camp for individuals age 8 and up, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, and Wednesday, July 6, at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center located at 604 N. Main St. in Weatherford.
The camp will include basic sewing skills as well as making string backpacks and shorts.
Participants will need to bring 1 1/2 yards of fabric for shorts, and one yard of 5/8- to 3/4-inch wide elastic. The material for the backpacks will be provided.
Also participants will need to bring a sewing machine, sewing machine needles and sewing needles, scissors, pins, a seam ripper, measuring tape, thread to go with the fabric for shorts and white thread.
The cost of the two day sewing camp is $15. Register by calling 817-598-6168 or 817-598-6172.

The Natural Bridge Caverns take “deep in the heart of Texas Hill Country” to a whole new meaning.
