Area students named to college honors lists

Weatherford residents on OBU fall honor roll

OKLAHOMA CITY –Two Weatherford residents were included on Oklahoma Baptist University’s academic honor roll for the fall 2012 semester.

Hanah Sheppard, a freshman cross-cultural ministry major, was named to the President’s Honor Roll.

Kyle Richter, a senior history and secondary social science education double major, was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll.

Students who achieved a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale are named to the President’s Honor Roll. Those who achieved a grade point average between 3.4 and 3.69 are listed on the Dean’s Honor Roll.

With campuses in Shawnee, Okla., and Oklahoma City, OBU offers 10 bachelor’s degrees with 84 fields of study and two master’s degree programs.

Sosebee makes Texas A&M-CC Dean’s List

CORPUS CHRISTI – Nathan Sosebee, of Weatherford, was named to the Dean’s List at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for the 2012 fall semester.

Sosebee is enrolled in the school’s College of Science and Engineering, Pre-Biomedical Sciences/Pre-Professional.

To qualify, undergraduates must be enrolled full time with a minimum of 12 semester hours and must earn a grade point average of 3.65 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a four-year university and part of The Texas A&M University System.



Bailey named to CCCC fall 2012 honor roll

CONCORDIA, Kan. – Katelyn Bailey, of Weatherford, was named to the Cloud County Community College 2012 Academic Honor Roll.

To be named to the honor roll, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours of college coursework and achieve a minimum 3.6 grade point average.

Cloud County Community College is one of 26 public two-year community and technical colleges in Kansas and is coordinated by the Kansas Board of Regents.

    Libby Wiley, art teacher at Mineral Wells High School and member of Iota Chi, the Weatherford chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, received a $270 award from her chapter to facilitate her attending the National Art Educators Association Convention in Fort Worth March 8-11.

    Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler is pleased to announce this year’s local recipient of the Sheriff’s Association of Texas Academic Scholarship. The $500 scholarship was awarded to Caitlin Olivia Rose, 20, of Weatherford, who is currently enrolled at Tarleton State University. She will be a junior during the fall semester and is majoring in Music Education.
