The Weatherford Police Department will be ready for this Labor Day weekend, as the height of driving while intoxicated is a commonality during the holiday. An unsuspecting speed violator is pulled over for going 44 mph in a 35 mph zone minutes after Officer Matt Vinson shoots radar on Palo Pinto Street.

Drink, drive, go to jail
With the final weekend of summer rolling in, police and sheriff’s officers are rolling out on the streets in search of drunken drivers.
Officers with the Weatherford Police Department have been stepping up their patrol duties since Aug. 20, and will continue through Sept. 6, as part of the Drink, Drive, Go to Jail campaign.
“There hasn’t been any significant increase in DWIs over the last few years,” Cpl. Wendy Field said. “[But] we will have increase patrol during the weekend and holiday.”
