Benefit set at local VFW for cancer patient

WEATHERFORD — A benefit dance is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Weatherford’s VFW Post 4746, located at 224 Zion Hill Road.

The benefit is to help Lawrence Alexander offset expenses related to his cancer diagnosis. He is currently in stage 3 of lymphoma cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.

The event is $10 per person and includes food, sodas and live music by Randy Hawkins, Cody Pendant and Snuff Garrett.

All proceeds of the event go to Alexander. Other donations may be made at First Bank locations in Springtown and Azle.
