ALEDO — One suspect’s mother turned in her son and an alleged accomplice for a rash of area car burglaries according to a Wednesday release issued by the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.
Information from the mother led to the arrests of Stewart Ross Hardy of Weatherford and Nathaniel Allen Burress of Aledo, who were booked into the Parker County Jail on multiple counts of vehicle burglary.
Sheriff’s Investigator Rick Crosley, acting on the mother’s information, searched area pawn shop records and located several additional items reported stolen in at least five Aledo area vehicle burglaries in June and July.
Among the items recovered were a GPS device, a digital camera, a radar detector and two DVD players.
Sheriff Larry Fowler said the pair apparently targeted unlocked vehicles parked within walking distance of Burress’ Aledo residence.
Sheriff’s Lieutenant Mark Arnett said both Hardy and Burress have been implicated in another Aledo vehicle burglary in which a handgun was taken. The weapon was recovered during the arrest of Clinton Berryman in late July after two drive-by shootings near Horseshoe Bend.
