Third gun store robber nabbed in Tennessee

WEATHERFORD — The third and final suspect involved in a local gun store robbery has been arrested and awaits extradition to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, according to a release issued Thursday.

After two men were also arrested in connection with the aggravated robbery, Investigator Robert Pawley turned the case over to the Parker County Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (FAST).

FAST Investigator Paul Gordon discovered the third suspect, identified as Christopher Edward “CJ” Paul Jr., 18, had ties in Tennessee.

Gordon contacted Sumner County Sheriff’s Office and notified authorities of the possible whereabouts of Paul Jr. April 27, and deputies apprehended Paul Jr. that same day.

Sumner County Sheriff’s Investigator Chris Tarlecky believes Paul Jr. was born and raised in Tennessee and apparently returned to his home state sometime after the robbery. He added Paul Jr. had been staying in his parents’ home and was unemployed at the time of his arrest.

Sheriff’s reports state the original offense occurred Nov. 13, 2008, at the Fort Worth Arms Gun Store in the 5000 block of Highway 199 in Parker County, where sheriff’s investigators believe the suspects held up the store by gunpoint and exchanged gunfire with the store clerk.

No injuries were reported at the time of the robbery.

The two other men arrested in connection with the crime are identified as Shawn Bradley Brown, 19, of Lake Worth, and Randy Lynn Soto, 20, of White Settlement. Both men have been charged with aggravated robbery.

Soto was arrested March 3, posted a $20,000 bond March 9, and was released. Brown was arrested Feb. 26, and remains in jail as of Wednesday afternoon. His bond was set at $75,000.

According to Tarlecky, Paul Jr., also charged with aggravated robbery, is expected to be extradited back to Parker County in the coming weeks.
