The Weatherford Chamber of Commerce’s annual Sweetheart Style Show is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center.

This is the fifth year for the event, and it’s taking on a new twist.

Themed “Then and Now,” the event will feature local celebrities modeling fashions from local merchants including Belk, Calvin Allen Saddlery and Western Wear, Cowgirl Junkie, David’s Western Store, Grins and Giggles, “L”, Maurice’s, My Traveling Pants, Something Special Boutique, Teskey’s and Truly Trendy.

“A portion of the style show will feature models dressed to represent how a Weatherford resident may have been dressed in previous decades,” wrote Chamber Event Coordinator Taylor Hall in a press release. “ Don Allen will be decked out in his hippie garb from the 1960s and we may have a lovely local banker revive the ’80s with shoulder pads and stirrup pants.”

Current trends will also be on display encouraging residents to shop local when buying for their special someone this Valentine’s Day.

“Whether you are looking for a trendy outfit for a night on the town or a fashionable gift for the cowboy or cowgirl in your life, a variety of different styles will be highlighted,” Hall wrote.

Admission is $15 for Weatherford Chamber members, $20 for non-Chamber members and $120 per table of eight. Lunch from Whistle Hill Cafe is included in the price.

All proceeds from the event go directly to The Center of Hope and Manna.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to support two very worthy causes,” Hall wrote.

The chamber is asking for seats to be reserved no later than Wednesday. For more information or to place a reservation contact the chamber at (817) 596-3801 or e-mail info@weatherford-chamber.com.
