The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death of a Weatherford College student, whose body was discovered in June, an accident by mixed-drug intoxication.
Stoney Reese Stubbs, 26, died June 28 in the 11000 block of Blue Creek Drive in far west Fort Worth and had morphine, alcohol and methamphetamine in his system, according to the medical examiner’s office.
According to previous news accounts, Stubbs’ body was found after a witness told police they saw a man trying to put Stubb’s body into an SUV and confronted the man, who fled.
Stubbs, a Fort Worth native, attended Weatherford College and was on the rodeo team, according to his obituary. He was transferring to Texas A&M in the fall and was an athlete, who competed in football, basketball and baseball, as well as rodeo.
