WEATHERFORD — A 77-year-old Ranger man was ejected from a pickup in a two-vehicle accident shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 20 near Brock and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2002 Ford F-250 pickup, driven by George Stewart, was eastbound in front of an 18-wheeler, driven by Jose Aren Donda, of Southgate, Calif., when the pickup struck the northbound guardrail and was struck from behind, according to Senior Trooper Gary Rozzell.

The accident occurred in a 65 mph zone during rainy conditions, according to DPS.

Stewart, who was believed to not be wearing a seatbelt, was ejected, Rozzell said.

Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene by LifeCare and his death ruled an accident due to blunt trauma of the pelvis and lower extremities, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Brock Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident and Millsap VFD helped divert traffic from the closed eastbound lane at the Millsap exit until 1:30 a.m. Monday, Millsap VFD Assistant Chief Jeff Edwards said.
