Bedford man arrested for home invasion

PARKER COUNTY — A Springtown homeowner held an intruder at gunpoint Tuesday morning after waking up and finding the suspect standing in his bedroom.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the incident occurred in the 100 block of Lelon Lane in Springtown around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

When deputies arrived on scene, the suspect, identified by the sheriff’s office as Christopher Lance Moore, was on a 911 call with Parker County communication. The homeowner, who was holding Moore at gunpoint, also dialed 911.

The 38-year-old victim told deputies and Springtown police that he and his wife awoke to a man wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt standing in his bedroom. The suspect then exited the residence, went around the side of the home and walked toward his GMC pickup, parked in the driveway of the victim’s residence, according to the sheriff’s report. The victim ordered the suspect to stop. He refused. The victim then ordered the suspect to drop a set of keys in his hand. He complied, but sat inside his pickup truck, according to the sheriff’s report.

The victim, who told deputies that he did not know the suspect, then waited for deputies to arrive on scene, holding the Moore, 41, at gunpoint.

When the victim asked Moore what he was doing inside of his residence, Moore answered, “Just unlucky, I guess,” according to the sheriff’s report.

The victim also told deputies when he asked the suspect what his intentions were inside the home, Moore replied, “bad intentions.”

Moore was taken into custody and charged with burglary of a habitation, a second degree felony.

As of Wednesday night, Moore remained incarcerated in Parker County Jail. His bond was set at $35,000.
