Parker County schools start today

PARKER COUNTY — For months, teachers and other faculty have been gearing up for the start of the new school year.

For Weatherford, Aledo, Springtown, Millsap, Peaster, Brock, Poolville and Garner ISDs, the doors will open to greet students tomorrow, as all campuses begin their first day of school.

A copy of the routes followed by the Weatherford ISD Durham buses will be posted to the Democrat website, www.weatherforddemocrat.com.

“Please be aware that bus routes will be slow for the first week or so of the 2012-13 school year,” Derik Moore, director of communications for Weatherford ISD said. “This is normal because new riders must be entered into the system - and this goes for both pick-up and drop-off locations.”

Students are allowed and encourage to bring water onto the bus, but water will be provided by WISD for each rider during the first two days of school.

All student riders must be registered to ride the Durham buses, and registration forms can be picked up at each campus, with a bus driver or at Durham School Services on the Ninth Grade campus. Forms will also be available online, at www.weatherfordisd.com.
