Monarch Utilities launches water-assistance program

SUGAR LAND – Monarch Utilities, a subsidiary of SouthWest Water Company, will launch Help2Others (H2O) – a utility-funded program that offers monthly bill-payment assistance to Monarch water customers whose combined household incomes do not exceed 125 percent of the current Federal Poverty Guideline.

A community-wide registration day is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express, located at 850 Interstate 20 East, in Weatherford.

“We are committed to doing our part to help our customers experiencing financial hardships,” said Janice Hayes, communications manager, SouthWest Water Company, Texas Utilities.  “As a socially responsible company, it is important to Monarch Utilities and SouthWest Water Company to offer assistance to our most vulnerable customers, and that is achieved through our H2O program.”

With H20, eligible water customers will receive a $20 pledge each month toward their bill.

H20 is funded by Monarch Utilities, SouthWest Water Company and its employees.

To qualify for H2O, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• The applicant must be a Monarch Utilities customer and a resident of Parker County.

• The applicant’s combined household income must not exceed 125 percent of the current Federal Poverty Guideline.

• The applicant must be current and remain current on water bill statements in order to receive monthly benefits.

To apply for the program, applicants are asked to present income documentation for all household members ages 18 and older, a current photo ID, and their most recent Monarch water bill.

Qualifying Monarch customers who are unable to attend the registration on Jan. 29, may contact Monarch Utilities thereafter toll-free at 866-654-7992 for assistance.
