Springtown man arrested on child porn charge

By CHRISTIN COYNE

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Friday accused of possessing and intending to promote child pornography, possibly involving young children he had access to.

Randall Benton Taff, 39, of Springtown, was arrested Friday on a charge of possession of child pornography after a woman staying with him called deputies.

The woman told deputies that Taff offered to let her borrow a memory stick to download music but when she looked at the contents of the memory card, she found photographs and video she believed to be child pornography, the probable cause affidavit filed with Justice of the Peace Kelly Green stated.

She reported that she recognized the victims as children that Taff had access to.

The deputy wrote that when she opened a file, he saw what appeared to be an adult male having sex with a “small child.”

An additional warrant was served on Taff at the Parker County Jail this week alleging possession with intent to promote child pornography.

The probable cause affidavit regarding the second charge was not available Tuesday and the Parker County Sheriff’s Office declined to answer questions regarding the case.
