HUDSON OAKS —
Time is running out for those wishing to take part in a Hudson Oaks business leaders forum Tuesday morning.
Registration closes Friday for the event, according to a press release. Mayor Pat Deen is hosting the forum, scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 16 at Hudson Oaks City Hall, 210 N. Lakeshore. City officials say the forum takes place regularly and gives business owners and managers a chance to meet each other and the mayor to discuss business in the city.
Subjects for the forum, which will include a question and answer session following, include a presentation by company President Johnny Blevins about the new Splash Kingdom Wild West water park that is scheduled to open in Hudson Oaks Memorial Day Weekend 2013. Blevins is the owner of Splash Kingdom water parks in both Canton and Shreveport, La.
Also on the agenda are updates on planned water system improvements for the city and the Eastern Loop transportation project. The mayor will also discuss the 180 Middle Median project which business and community leaders say was necessary as the city continues its branding and logo improvements.
City Secretary Sheila Elmore said about 10 spots are filled right now with room for more. To register for the forum, contact Elmore at 682-229-2425 or email her at sheila.elmore@hudsonoaks.com.
