Weatherford police are asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for breaking into a car wash on Fort Worth Highway.
On Wednesday, Aug. 8, Weatherford Police officers were dispatched to the Weatherford Car Wash, 1510 Fort Worth Highway, in regards to a burglary. Upon arrival, the complainant reported that sometime between Sunday, Aug. 5, and Wednesday, Aug. 8, unknown suspects forced entry into the pump room and stole an undetermined amount of cash and quarters from the money changer.
Weatherford Car Wash owner Steve Leach said it was the third time the business had been broken into.
“They basically just pried the door open,” he said, noting the door led to room where equipment was stored.
In a previous break-in, suspects entered through door on the other side.
The Weatherford Police Department is encouraging anyone who may have information on this crime or who may have seen something suspicious in the area during this time frame to contact the department at 817-598-4300 or Parker County Crime Stoppers at 817-599-5555 or 1-800-942-STOP. Up to a $1,000 reward will be paid for this information and callers may remain anonymous.
