Canyon West to celebrate Fourth without fireworks

WEATHERFORD — WEATHERFORD — Citing a need to take a break as well as concern over the dry weather conditions in the area, Canyon West owners have decided not to have their annual fireworks event July 3.

Although the event is much anticipated, the owners said they will instead celebrate with hot dogs, hamburgers and golf.

Owners Stan and Wes Mickle also said they would like to extend a special invitation to military personnel. Those who show their military ID will receive a half price discount at the golf club during the July Fourth weekend.

Canyon West is located at 160 Club House Road, Weatherford. For more information, call 817-596-4653 or visit www.canyonwestgolf.com.
