Extension office’s ‘Healthy Hearts’ cooking classes begin Tuesday

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Parker County is offering the “Healthy Hearts” cooking classes.

The two-session classes will be on Tuesdays, Feb. 26 and March 5. The cost to attend all the classes is $20 per person, which covers both evenings and includes recipes, demonstrations and heart-healthy food to taste each evening the entire series.

The classes are 6-8 p.m. at the Parker County Agricultural Services Center, located at 604 N. Main St., in Weatherford.

The Healthy Hearts Cooking series will include the following topics: “Understanding Fats and how to Cut the Fat in Main Dishes,” “Reducing Sodium and Increasing Fiber,” “Heart Healthy Foods,” ‘Understanding Food Labels,” “Meatless Meal Ideas,” “Cooking Fish” and “Ways to include Beef in a Healthy Heart Diet.”
