Police searching for robbery suspect

PARKER COUNTY — The Azle Police Department and the FBI are still searching for a male suspect who was involved in an Azle bank robbery Thursday.

The National Bank of Texas, located on Commerce Street in Azle, was robbed Thursday afternoon at 1:50 p.m., Azle Police Corporal Zachary Hatton said.

“Upon arrival it was determined the suspect entered the bank, and he did display a handgun,” Hatton said. “He told everyone to get on the ground and verbally demanded money from the bank teller.

“The bank teller complied with the suspect’s commands, and he left the location with an unknown amount of currency.”

According to Hatton, the suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s.

“He was last seen wearing a white hard hat, like a construction hat, a white mask, similar to a surgical mask, a dark coat, blue jeans and sunglasses,” Hatton said.

According to Hatton, the suspect exited and went behind the bank, but employees did not follow him because he was armed.

Police are still searching for additional information that may lead them to the suspect, Hatton said.

Hatton also advised the public to always report suspicious activity.

“If they have any suspicious vehicles or what appears to be suspicious vehicles outside of banks or appear out of place at all, (the public) should give their local (law enforcement) agency a call,” Hatton said. “It would have been beneficial (in this case).”

The Air Force Academy recently graduated their first openly gay cadets. What does this signify?

Nothing. There have always been gay cadets, they just haven't been open.
A step backward. Sexual orientation issues shouldn't be a part of the military.
A step forward. The military needs to be open to people of all backgrounds.
No opinion.
