‘Warriors for Christ’ biker bash set for Labor Day weekend

GRANBURY — Warriors for Christ - Biker Bash Texas is coming to Granbury this Labor Day weekend,

Thousands of Christian bikers will ride into town and enjoy a weekend of shopping at the historic square with some great vendors, scenic bike runs, live bands and Christian entertainment, as well as powerful services in Shanley Park.

There will be a bike show, bike games, hotrod show, bike blessings and more. The whole atmosphere changes as Granbury is transformed into somewhat of a “Christian Sturgis.”

This year’s rally is sponsored by Warriors For Christ Motorcycle Ministry, a local ministry with the Warriors For Christ Biker Fellowship Church located in Granbury. The group also does a prison ministry throughout Texas.

Warriors For Christ has participated in the other rallies that have been here the past few years, but this is the first year to actually sponsor and plan the event on their own.

“We’re very excited for this opportunity to reach so many people through our ministry and to bring a fun, family-oriented motorcycle event to our town,” said David Kimbrow, event organizer.

Vendors will be on the square from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday though Monday. A children’s ministry area will be located on the square Saturday, as well as the ever popular favorite for kids of all ages — face painters — all three days.

There will be a raffle run Saturday morning from the square, a bike show at the Granbury Square Plaza and a rodeo Saturday afternoon. Bands and services will be held at Shanley Park Saturday evening with appearances by Sons of Thunder, Johnny Spinks — world champion kick-boxer and Mac Gober with Tribe of Judah.

Church services in Shanley Park will be 10 a.m. Sunday morning, held by Pastor David Kimbrow. The Hotrod Show Sunday morning will be held at Decker Gym parking lot with judging at noon. A scenic run from the square takes place Sunday afternoon.

Live band performances, an appearance by Tino Walenda of the famous Flying Walendas, a sky diving demo and Mac Gober with Tribe of Judah will take place Sunday evening in Shanley Park.
