HUDSON OAKS— The City of Hudson Oaks announced the approval of a new highway exit at Interstate 20 and Oakridge Drive.
The new exit is being installed to improve traffic flow through Hudson Oaks and is expected to be a key building block for a strong economy in the city.
The exit will provide additional access to retailers and development near Oakridge Drive.
“We are very excited about this project and what it means for the City and our residents,” said Patrick Lawler, director of operations for the City of Hudson Oaks. “Actual construction should begin in six to eight weeks, and our goal is to have the project completed before the holiday season.”
The Texas Department of Transportation Commission officially approved the $518,999.49 contract Aug. 27.
Ed Bell Construction Company is the contractor on record for the new exit just west of Lakeshore Drive.
“This highway exit is a great step for the economic development of Hudson Oaks,” said Mark Connell, president of Connell Realty Services. “Retailers and restaurants look for easy access to their properties and the addition of this exit will make Hudson Oaks much more attractive to users and developers.”
