Mason Wallis, candidate for Parker County Commissioner, precinct 4, will host a fundraiser and silent auction Sunday to inform voters about his message. The event starts at 6 p.m. at Los Vaqueros Banquet Hall located at 4971 East Interstate 20 in Willow Park.

“We’re looking forward to a good turnout,” Wallis said. “I hope to let people know about my platform and what I try to get across by bringing honesty, integrity and common sense to the office.

The silent auction includes paintings from local artist Beverly Freeman, an autographed sketchbook by Homer Norris and art by Chuck DeHaan. The fundraiser also includes a buffet-style dinner and musical concert by John Tracy.

“We have some really nice pieces for the silent auction that I think will generate some excitement,” he said.

Wallis, a Parker County native, said he believes his background in construction and business will make him successful.

“I thought about running a few years back and it was just never the right time,” he said. “I decided I needed to get involved since I have always had a strong sense of community.”
