Joshua Ryan Gause, 25, of Weatherford was arrested early Wednesday morning in connection with the stabbing of his roommate.
He is currently being held at the Parker County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police were dispatched to the Jameson Street Apartments at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a stabbing. On their way to the scene, officers were informed the victim, a 24-year-old white male from Weatherford, was being taken to Weatherford Regional Medical Center by a family member.
At the scene, officers interviewed Gause and determined a dispute had taken place resulting in Gause stabbing his roommate.
Weatherford police then sent officers to WRMC to locate the victim who was in the process of being treated for a stab wound to the abdomen.
“The victim was uncooperative with hospital staff and the officers who were attempting to investigate what had occurred,” stated a press release from the Weatherford Police Department. “He eventually refused treatment at that location and was transported to Harris Methodist Hospital.”
The condition of the victim is unknown.
