ALEDO - The principal of the Aledo Learning Center has tossed his hat into the ring for election as Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace.
Ron Miller, in a Thursday release, announced his intentions to seek the position on the March 4 Republican primary ballot.
Miller began his career in education in 1968, working at Brewer High School. From there he served at Azle High School and has been a part of Aledo ISD for 21 years.
He feels the same skills he uses in education will benefit Parker County if he is elected.
“Being fair and consistent in dealing with the citizens of Precinct 4 is extremely important,” he said.
Miller cites experience in budgeting, and personnel management as professional strengths.
He grew up in Indiana and graduated from North Texas State University in 1968, attending college on a basketball scholarship. He received his masters of education degree in guidance and counseling from TCU in 1977 and his vocational counseling certificate from NTSU in 1980.
He and his wife Janis have been married for 38 years. They have two sones and four grandchildren.

Sheriff, judge at odds over mailer
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler sent out a statement and automatic phone calls across the county Wednesday saying he did not endorse incumbent 43rd District Judge candidate Trey Loftin, following a mailer sent by the judge’s campaign that included a quote from Fowler.
However, Loftin said Thursday Fowler made the referenced statement to a room full of people at a fundraiser for Loftin and agreed to let Loftin’s campaign quote the sheriff. - Film director looking for local actors
