Cold winds coming

Northwest winds are going to bring bone-chilling cold to the area through Christmas morning.

Today, forecasters are calling for a 30 percent chance of rain under cloudy skies and a high temperature of 41. However, winds are expected between 20 and 25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph, will make the air feel more like temperatures are in the teens.

Wind chills are predicted to dip near 10 degrees Christmas morning, even as skies clear and northwest winds ebb to 10 to 15 mph. Friday’s high is expected to be near 40.

The weekend warms up slightly as Saturday’s high will be in the mid 40s, followed by a high of 50 on Sunday.
