Grease is the word

WEATHERFORD — The Weatherford High School production of Grease looks like it’s going to be a stellar show. The high school musical will be shown this weekend starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3. There will be two performances on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at the WHS Durant Auditorium theater, inside the high school at 2121 Bethel Road, Weatherford. For more information, call the school at 817-598-2862.

Grease, made popular by the 1978 movie starring John Travolta and singer Olivia Newton-John, follows the story of “bad boy” Danny Zuko and “good girl” Sandy Olsen. Sandy, who is new to the 1950s-era Rydell High, falls for Danny, who does like her but worries what his friends will think about him dating someone so straight-laced. The antics and lives of their friends and the melding of their two lifestyles result in several song and dance numbers.

The Air Force Academy recently graduated their first openly gay cadets. What does this signify?

Nothing. There have always been gay cadets, they just haven't been open.
A step backward. Sexual orientation issues shouldn't be a part of the military.
A step forward. The military needs to be open to people of all backgrounds.
No opinion.
