Suspect in custody after double homicide

Annetta South — The Parker County Sheriff's Office has charged a 17-year-old with capital murder after, investigators say, he called 911 around 12:30 a.m. today to report that he'd killed his mother and younger sister.

Jake Evans reportedly said he'd shot his mother, 48-year-old Jamie Evans,  and his 15-year-old sister with a .22 revolver at their home in the 100 block of River Creek Lane in Annetta South.

Evans was taken into custody without further incident, according to authorities.

The father and husband of the two killed was reportedly out of town on business at the time.

Investigators believe Evans acted alone.

The Parker County Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division and the Texas Rangers are investigating.
