Brock defeats Idalou, 56-51, to set up title showdown

AUSTIN – With Tré Ewell sinking four free throws in the final seconds, the Brock Eagles held off Idalou, 56-51, to set up a Saturday afternoon showdown with White Oak for the Class 2A boys basketball championship.

Idalou, which lost for the second time this year to Brock and had made four straight trips to the state tourney, finishes the season 34-4 while Brock improves to 32-6.

White Oak (36-1) is the defending state champion. The game tips off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas.

The Brock Lady Eagles won the Class 2A championship on the same floor last weekend.

The Democrat will provie more details on this game later today.
