Man gets 20 years in infant death case

A 37-year-old Weatherford man charged in connection with the October 2010 death of a 1-month-old male infant was convicted Tuesday of causing serious bodily injury to a child and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

John Paul Webb pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree felony injury to a child in a plea agreement with the District Attorney’s Office. Webb also agreed to the maximum sentence of 20 years.

Webb was initially chared with capital murder of a child under six years of age.
