Hudson Oaks officials giving people with outstanding fines a chance to take care of them or face arrest during warrant roundup

HUDSON OAKS – If you have outstanding fines with the City of Hudson Oaks Municipal Court, your time to pay them is running out. Arrests will be made and unpaid fines will be collected during an upcoming statewide warrant roundup.

The city currently has 1,643 outstanding warrants valued at $515,905, according to a press release. Hudson Oaks’ municipal court and police department will join forces with more than 200 law enforcement agencies across the state for the Great Texas Warrant Roundup of 2013.

City Administrator Sheri Campbell-Husband said the warrant program has been going on statewide for many years, and this is the fourth straight year Hudson Oaks has taken part in it. The amount owed may seem large, but has actually gone down as a result of taking part in the program.

“We’ll clear some warrants, but then we’ll issue some more,” Campbell-Husband said. “The money owed has gradually gone down, however.”

Municipal court staff is working with those who have not paid fines to get their accounts cleared before the warrant roundup begins next month. The municipal court is located in Hudson Oaks City Hall at 210 N. Lakeshore Drive, just two blocks north of the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and U.S. 180 (Fort Worth Highway).

Regular hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The court will also remain open for extended hours on the following days to offer additional opportunities to pay fines and avoid arrest.

• Tuesday, February 26th: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Saturday, March 2nd: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Thursday, March 7th: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Once the warrant roundup begins, people with unpaid fines will be arrested. Police will go to homes, places of work, or wherever they might find those who have avoided their responsibility to the court. Hudson Oaks officials encourage anyone with outstanding warrants to take advantage of the opportunity to pay their fines immediately.
