Carlin Gamblin

WEATHERFORD —

Carlin Gamblin was born Feb. 21, 1936, in Memphis, Tenn., and on Sunday July 15, 2012, left this earth to join those who had gone before him in heaven.

Carlin was a retired Senior Projects Engineer from General Dynamics. Although he had enjoyed his work at GD and his many travels in 49 states and several countries, he would rather be singing and playing the guitar. Carlin was an accomplished musician. He did not read music; however, he heard it in his head. Carlin sang rock n’ roll and country, but his favorite was when he was singing gospel music for his Lord. He especially enjoyed singing his gospel music with his many nieces, nephews, friends and family (sisters, brother) and his church family.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years Martha; daughters, Carla Gamblin and Cindy Davidson and husband, Randy; step sons, Wayne Jackson, David Jackson and Matthew Jackson; sisters, Nadine Case and Reba Jones; brother, Clyde Gamblin; seven grandchildren, Cole Davidson and wife, Katee, Shea Davidson and wife, Amanda, Dustin Davidson and wife, Christy, Derek Davidson and wife, Jennifer, Toni Jackson, Tiffani Jackson and Tyler Totten; five great grandchildren, Myles Davidson, Piper Davidson, Addison Davidson, Cameron Davidson and Devin Davidson, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church, 250 Old Tin Top Road in Weatherford, Texas. Burial will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Monday at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to his church, your own church or your favorite charity.
