Durward Kenneth Chambers

GRANBURY — Durward Kenneth Chambers, a resident of Parker County for more than 30 years, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, in Glen Rose.

Durward Kenneth Chambers was born March 25, 1924, in Blooming Grove, to Virlon Chambers and Eppie Ann McGovern Chambers. He was a World War II veteran and retired from Merchants Fast Motor Lines where he had worked for more than 30 years, and was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Weatherford. He was a former resident of the Cove at Waterview in Granbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Buford Chambers; sisters, Novaline Thomas and Joy Farris; a niece and two nephews.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Mable L. Chambers; daughter, Cherry Redwine and husband, James; granddaughters, Brenda Wood and husband, Ross, Darbi Johnson and husband, Mike, Karen Myers and husband, Allen, Kim Cornett and husband, Cameron; grandsons, Kelby Hubbard and wife, Leah, Robert Hubbard and wife, Dawnia; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Service is at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel United Methodist Church, 3196 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Committal is at 2:30 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Memorial gifts may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
