WEATHERFORD — LaVena Sneed, 85, of Weatherford, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 in a Fort Worth hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1924 in Poolville, Texas to George and Effie Sims.
LaVena was a retired baker for Weatherford Independent School District and a member of North Main Church of God. She loved to quilt, sew and read, and was a fabulous cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Sneed of Kerrville; sons, Ted Way of Weatherford, Jimmy Way of Millsap; sisters, Bonnie Moore and Ruth Haney, both of Weatherford; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 in the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in East Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
