Jim was born May 9, 1956 in Indio, Calif., and was raised a true Texan since toddler age. A long-time resident of the Weatherford area working as a brick layer and laborer until his cancer battle when he moved to Mineral Wells Nursing & Rehab Center where he truly enjoyed the Christian fellowship at the Mineral Wells Church of God. Jim loved gardening and caring for birds of nature where he created a garden spot which is in his memory today.

He is survived by his parents, Juanita and Harold Towles of Seymour, Texas; daughter, Laci and husband Scott Carter of Weatherford, along with two grandchildren; stepdaughters which Jim raised as his own, Diane Cupp and Chrystal Stone of Ohio with four more grandchildren; siblings, Pam and husband Todd Saul of Weatherford, Melody and husband Geary Glover of Mineral Wells, Charlotte and husband Rick Fleming of Peaster, Gerald and wife Donna Towles of Weatherford, and Randy Towles of Seymour, Texas; and many neices, nephews and friends.

The family would love to thank Solaris Hospice and MWN&R Center for the love, prayers & support that were given to Jim and us during these past few months of his life. We all know that Jim is at his peaceful heavenly home and we are truly grateful for the love and joy he imprinted on each of our hearts forever.

His memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Mineral Wells Church of God with Terry Mitchell and Pastor Tomlin officiating. Jim’s selfless desire was to help others by donating his body to the Cancer Research of UT Medical School in Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MWN&R Center to further his vegetable and flower garden, and bird sanctum there.
