Beulah Jewell Banks

— Beulah Jewell Banks, 97, died early Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in a local nursing facility.

Beulah was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Joplin, Texas, to Elmer and Chella Smith. She was a resident of Weatherford for many years. She was a homemaker, member of the Church of Christ, a Senior Center volunteer and member of Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion. Beulah was family driven and loved quilting, ceramics, animals and painting.

She was preceded in death by her children, Juanita Jewell Pyle, Y. T. Banks Jr. and James Lynn Banks; parents, Elmer and Chella Smith and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include daughters-in-law, Anita Banks of Benbrook and Mary Ann Banks of Benbrook; son-in-law, Jerry Pyle of Benbrook; seven grandchildren, Sonny Lynn Nelson and wife Janice, of Caddo Mills; James Banks and wife, Debra of Wasilla, Alaska, Tommy Glenn Nelson of Caddo Mills, Teresa Dyer of Moulton, Kenneth Banks of Benbrook, Cindy Perkins and Delayna of Fort Worth, Angie Wright and husband, Scott of Weatherford; nine great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, in the Fairview Cemetery in Joplin, Texas.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
