Tommy Hampton Puryear, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.

Mr. Puryear was born May 6, 1938, in Wellington, Texas, and graduated from Weatherford High School with the Class of 1956. Tom also attended the University of Texas at Arlington. A resident of Lakeside, Texas, he was a retired insurance agent. Tom was an avid golfer with fond memories of serving as a Marshall at Cross Timbers Golf Course.
He was a representative of the 1954 Weatherford High School Football Hall of Fame. Mr. Puryear was a retired insurance agent and avid golfer. A resident of Lakeside, he was loved by many.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Darla Ruth Estes Puryear; daughters, Tommie Jean Wagner and husband David, Bridget Merrill and husband David, Jerri Leafaye Bartos and husband Barry, Loretta Travis and husband Stocker; brother, Jim Puryear and wife Janice; nephew, Cole Puryear, niece, Jamie Puryear Thompson; grandchildren, Christopher Bartos, Crystal Kirk, Kable Patten, Travis Wagner, Hunter Wagner, David Merrill, Jenny Bolding, Matthew Profitt and Morgan Medina; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Puryear was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Hampton and Jewel Faye Puryear.
Tom was loved by many.
