DENISON — Vera Lucille Chandler, 88, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Homestead of Denison.
Mrs. Chandler was born Nov. 29, 1923, in Lubbock, the daughter of Ross and Annie (Dodson) Simpson. She was affectionately known as Curly. She married the love of her life, Ernest Chandler in Weatherford. Lucille loved sports, especially the Mavericks, Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. She also loved her family and spending time with them. Lucille was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Chandler; stepson, Doyle Chandler; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by her beloved family, son, Gary Chandler and wife, Bonnie of Granbury; daughter, Thelma Horton and husband, Pat of Denison;, grandchildren, Jeff Horton and Jina Hurst and husband, Chris, both of Denison; Angela Chandler of Granbury; Monica Chandler and husband, B. J. of Burleson; Chance Chandler of Brewton, Ala.; five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Weatherford, Texas.
