GRANBURY —
Don W. Hickey, 68, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, in Weatherford.
Mr. Hickey was born March 5, 1944, in Weatherford, to Roy and Edith Thompson Hickey. He married Mildred Evelyn Head, Oct. 30, 1964, in Granbury. Don was a survey professional for 46 years with Brookes-Baker Surveyors, which he owned the last 22 years. He was a Registered Professional Land Surveyor and a Licensed State Land Surveyor. He was a charter member and a deacon of the Long Creek Baptist Church. Don enjoyed the outdoors, his horses, cows and playing golf. His greatest loves were his family and his church.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edith Hickey, and step-mother, T Donna Hickey.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hickey; children and spouses, Alan and Tammy Hickey, Bill and Melinda Hickey, James and Earlene Hickey; grandchildren, Colt Hickey, Justin Hickey, Jared Hickey, Bryan Hickey, Walker Hickey, Nathan Hickey, Matthew Hickey, Darci Hickey, Lani Hickey, Kadi Hickey, Brayden Wray; brother, Roy Hickey and wife, Joyce; sister, Wanda Ferguson; father-in-law, W.W. Head; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Long Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Granbury Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Long Creek Baptist Church Kitchen Fund.
