Ann Padgett

WEATHERFORD —

Ann Padgett, 77, of Copperas Cove, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, June 8, 2012.

Ann was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Smithfield, N.C. She was a long-time resident of Weatherford before moving to Copperas Cove 11 years ago. Ann has many friends. Everywhere she went, she made a friend or two. She loved to play bingo, do scratch-off tickets, and she loved Vince Gill. Being from North Carolina always made her homesick for the food that was grown there. She had a friend that kept her supplied with greens and cornmeal. Two of her grandsons supplied her with seafood, chicken and quail. Her best friend in Benbrook took care of her wants and needs. They would talk for hours about their dogs. She had many friends in Copperas Cove, who all checked on her, fed her and ran errands for her. She always had a shoulder to lean on. They all loved Miss Ann. We all did. She will be missed.

Ann was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Lewis and Joseph Lewis, both of Weatherford, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jimmey Jones of Roswell, N.M.; daughter-in-law, Patti Lewis of Weatherford, Texas; grandsons, Curtis Thrift and wife, Carey, of Lampasas, Texas, Randy Hawkins of Fort Worth, Texas, Bradford Lewis of Weatherford, Texas, and Larry Lewis of Georgia. Ann had eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at the home of Ina and Bob Pooler, 209 Hickory Lane, Weatherford, Texas.
