Cecil E. McFarland, ex-Marine, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012.
Cecil was born Dec. 11, 1931. He was raised on a ranch, where he learned how to handle cattle, among other things. After he graduated from Aledo High School in 1949, he went on a show cattle tour and participated in 18 state fairs. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1951 and after he was honorably discharged, worked as a cable splicer for Southwestern Bell and other companies.
Cecil was preceded in death by his father, Gene McFarland; mother, Sybil McFarland; brother, Tommy McFarland; and sister, Vernell Vowel.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Rasco McFarland; daughters, Belinda Sesson and Beverly Bohlman; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Bud McFarland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
