Genia McKenzie

WESTWORTH VILLAGE – Genia McKenzie, 43, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in Fort Worth.

Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment will be in Dicey Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Genia Melinda McKenzie was born July 17, 1969, in Fort Worth, the oldest of two children to Harold Hayden and Martha Nell Wood Huddleston. She was very artistic and could create anything. She married Charles “Chuck” McKenzie on July 27, 1991, and they began their life together. Genia loved her family and had a servant’s heart. She was an animal lover and volunteered her time with CatTailz. She graduated with the class of 1987 from Castleberry High School and was a lifelong member of River Oaks Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Survivors include her husband, Charles “Chuck” McKenzie, and sons, Nichollas and Matthew McKenzie, all of Westworth Village; parents, Harold Hayden and Martha Huddleston, of River Oaks; brother, Harold Ray Huddleston and wife, Laura, of Dallas; niece, Margaret “Maggie” Huddleston; nephew, Hayden Huddleston; numerous cousins; and a host of loving family, church family and friends.

Genia was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
