Duane Lamb

Duane Lamb, age 68, of Weatherford, left his earthly life on Monday morning, Jan. 14, 2013, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jna. 16, 2013, in the Galbreaith Pickard Chapel, with interment in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the funeral home.

Born on May 10, 1944 to Wayne D. (Whittie) Lamb and Mildred Lamb, Duane graduated from Weatherford High School and married his high school sweetheart, Annette Martin. He took over his dad’s paint business after his father passed away in 1966. Duane was a well known painting contractor for 47 years. He always loved fast cars and used to drag race at Forest Hills and Kennedale. He later moved on to building street rods and restoring classic cars. He and Annette showed his cars at car shows and won several awards. He usually sold the cars after the car shows and started another project. He always said the fun was building and showing them rather than driving them.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Martin Lamb, of Weatherford; daughter, Michelle Lamb Seay and husband, Brad, of Weatherford; son, Christian Thomas lamb and wife, Diana, of Weatherford; sister, Suzanne Lamb, of Weatherford; brother, Greg Lamb and wife, Diane, of Weatherford; four grandchildren, Rachael Crockett, Stephen Lamb, Jade Seay and Glenn Seay; and his boxer, Booger.

Memorials may be made to Legacy Boxer Rescue at  www.savetheboxers.com or the American Cancer Society.
