Doris Mae Dossey

Doris Mae Dossey went to be with her Lord,  Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

Doris was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Keysville, Fl., and was a resident of Weatherford for many years. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught junior high Sunday school class. She also volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels and transported cancer patients to and from appointments. She worked as an executive secretary for Metropolitan Life and Liberty Life insurance companies. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Dossey and a brother, Holly Jones. Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl K. Smith and husband, Don, of Weatherford, Brenda S. Fast and husband, Larry, of Vancouver, Wash., and Janet Rebecca (Becki) Putnam and husband, Jerry, of Wylie, Texas; sister, Donnie Haggard and husband, Virgil, of Keysville, Fl.; brothers, Hilton Jones and wife, Ouida, of Old Town, Fl., Howard Jones and wife Odessa of Sebring, Fl. and Ronnie Jones of Keysville, Fl.

A service will be held on Thursday, at 1 pm at First Baptist Church in Weatherford, with interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Meals on Wheels or the benevolence fund at First Baptist Church in Weatherford.
