Virginia Phillips Carter, 87, loving wife, precious mother, dear sister and faithful Christian, went to be with her Heavenly Father with arms open and singing praises on Nov. 30, 2012.
Born March 8, 1925, to Fred Phillips and Lucile Turpin Phillips, she was a life-long resident of Weatherford.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill Carter; son, Freddie A. Carter and wife, Patricia, son, Joe B. Carter and wife Sharon, daughter, Darla K. Berry and husband, Ricky and son, G. Brad Carter and wife, Vicki; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Sammie Harris and husband, James; niece Dr. Lauranne Harris and many cousins.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, the former location of Couts United Methodist Church, where she and Bill were married on June 6, 1946.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard.
