Roger Dale Phillips Sr.

WEATHERFORD — Mr. Roger Dale Phillips Sr., 66, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family in Weatherford, Texas. Roger was born on March 4, 1946, to Earl and Nescaleto Glaze Phillips in Comanche, Texas. He was a long time resident of Parker County. Roger was a humble person who valued family, friends and those who serve our country. For more than 40 years he worked hard in the construction and oilfield industries where he enjoyed the ability to use his mechanical and mathematical skills.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Herbert and Nescaleto Glaze Phillips; brothers, E. W. Phillips, Earl L. Phillips, Robert Phillips and baby boy Phillips; sisters, Guyneth Phillips, Bertie Lou Fife, baby girl Phillips and Patsy Staats.

Roger leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Judy K. Phillips of Weatherford; daughters, Denise Phillips and Darlene Cherry both of Fort Worth; sons, Roger Phillips Jr. of Weatherford, James Doey Phillips and wife, Kathy of Weatherford, Dean Phillips of Mineral Wells; step-sons, Jason T. Williams of Rockfield, Ky.,  Grant T. Williams and wife, Elaine of Evansville, Ind., and sister, Jean Wood of Forth Worth; brother, H. Ray Phillips and wife, Marie of Burleson; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roger’s family will receive friends and family for visitation on Monday, Dec. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kirk Zehnder officiating. Roger will be laid to rest in the Annetta Cemetery in Parker County.
