WEATHERFORD —
Cora Brown, 87, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012. Cora was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Seminole, Okla., to Forrest Ola and Forest Ed Brown.
Mrs. Brown was a former resident of Tecumseh, Okla., where she worked in the Tecumseh public schools. She moved to Weatherford and resided with many close friends at Parkview Terrace Apartments. She was an expert seamstress, quilter and enjoyed embroidery, blessing many with her talents.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Marshall Brown and siblings, Alma Flannery, Betty Sandlin, Mary Jo Cayton and Steve A. Brown.
Survivors include her daughter, Cecilia Lynn Jacobs of Weatherford; two sons serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, Forest Quentin Brown and wife, Pam, of Richland, NC, and Jesse Huey Brown and wife, Monique, of Lawton, Okla., and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Okla. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Thursday until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole following the service.
